Al Ain: High humidity and a drop in temperature in the night caused early morning fog in most parts of the UAE Thursday, bringing early morning traffic to a crawl.

The national weather bureau forecast clear and hot weather in general during daytime. The temperature will drop again at night but humidity will rise.

“It’s a usual phenomenon in late September mornings and people should be alert and cautious,” said a forecaster at the national weather bureau.

Light fog was reported in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and some interior parts of the country.

Police has warned motorists to drive carefully in foggy conditions early morning and use low beam lights. They also asked motorists to not use hazard lights and to  stop at safe spots off the road if visibility drops dangerously.

The maximum temperate is expected to shoot up to 42 degree Celsius in the coastal areas, 45 Centigrade in the interior, and 35c in the mountainous areas.
