Dusty skies and strong winds to sweep across UAE, NCM issues alerts

The weather across the UAE is set to be dusty and partly cloudy, particularly in the eastern and northern regions. As the day progresses, winds will begin to pick up, especially over the sea, with speeds expected to range from 15 to 25 km/h, occasionally reaching up to 50 km/h. This increase in wind speed may lead to a rise in dust and sand in the air, potentially reducing visibility for drivers on the road. For beachgoers planning to enjoy the sea, caution is advised. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued yellow and amber alerts due to anticipated rough sea conditions. The Arabian Gulf is expected to become very rough, while the Oman Sea will generally remain moderately calm. Temperatures across the region are forecasted to be in the high 20s, with maximum temperatures possibly reaching 25°C. Conversely, minimum temperatures may drop to around 14°C. High humidity levels are also expected, reaching up to 90 percent, particularly during the evening and into Wednesday morning. Residents in northern and eastern areas, such as Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, should be prepared for the possibility of fog or mist formation as conditions shift.

Light to moderate Easterly to Northeasterly winds will develop, freshening at times and leading to blowing dust that could further reduce horizontal visibility in some areas, especially in the east and inland. Wind speeds will range from 10 to 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h. The sea conditions are expected to remain moderate but will become rough at times in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
