Weather is due to the changing of the seasons as winter ends and spring sets in
Dubai: Forecasters are urging motorists to exercise caution on the road and residents working outdoors to be ready with face covers as horizontal visibility may be poor due to dusty or sandy conditions over the next 48 hours.
Moderate to fresh southerly and southeasterly winds will continue to affect the country by Monday and Tuesday, causing blowing dust or sand especially over exposed areas. This may lead to poor visibility at times, a weather alert from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said on Sunday night.
Temperatures are also expected to rise due to the extension of the southwestern surface low pressure with southerly to southeasterly flow. The mercury rose on Sunday and will continue rising on Monday reaching 33C to 37C on coastal areas and 35C to 39C in internal areas.
Current weather changes are influenced by the changing seasons when winter ends and spring begins, NCMS said.
Clouds are expected over the northern and eastern areas by afternoon on Monday. The cloud amounts may increase over some areas, especially to the north and over the islands with a chance of light rain by Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The Arabian Gulf Sea will be moderate to rough and slight to moderate over Oman Sea.
