Dubai: This Eid weekend will be more forgiving compared to the hot days the UAE experienced last year, but residents should still wear their sunscreens as it will be relatively hot, forecasters said.

The mercury has started to drop to below the 45 degree Celsius mark, and the residents noted of a pleasant morning weather during the past two days.

The expected maximum temperatures over the country are as follows: over the islands and the coastal regions the mercury will hover between 35C and 39C; the internal regions will have between 39C and 44C, while the mountainous regions will be between 27C and 32C. Minimum temperatures overnight will range from 21C to 27C.

There will be plenty of sunshine in Khor Fakkan but it remains the best outdoor-friendly destination this Eid Al Adha as temperatures will be about 34C, but will feel like 37C considering the humidity.

Dubai resident Gracielle Diane Dalangin and her family is driving to Khor Fakkan early morning on the first day of Eid to take advantage of the favourable weather.

“We’ll be heading to the beach side for a day trip. We were supposed to camp overnight but nights are usually humid these days,” Dalangin told Gulf News.

Dubai, Dibba, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman will be sunny and very warm with a temperature of 38C. It will also be sunny and warm in Sharjah but will be less humid compared to the other emirates.

Abu Dhabi will be 39C while the warmest so far is Ras Al Khaimah at 40C, but will feel like 43C.

But for Nitin Bhartia, an IT specialist in Abu Dhabi, said he is still heading to Ras Al Khaimah this Eid despite the heat.

“The weather is a consideration in our trip but it is generally cooler now. It’s better and more favourable now,” Bhartia, who is treating his parents for the holidays, said.

Forecasters at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said the weather during Eid holidays will also be hazy and partly cloudy at times over some areas. There will be light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times.

Those travelling to the mountainous side of the UAE will get some cloud cover as low clouds will appear to the east during the afternoons.

Residents can enjoy the beaches as the seas will be calm and swell in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman will be slight to moderate.

Relative humidity will increase at night and in the early mornings over some coastal and internal areas, and fog may form towards the west on Friday and Saturday.
