Abu Dhabi Police put out a call on social media, asking motorists to be cautious while driving this morning as visibility is affected by thick fog.  “[Motorists] are urged to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards. Drive Safely,” it said on X.

Meanwhile, the National Center of Meteorology said horizontal visibility may drop further at times over some coastal and internal areas from 5.45am on Sunday until 09.30am.

Fresh Northwesterly winds will reach up to  40km/h and the seas will be rough at times in the Arabian Gulf with waves reaching six feet until 9am.

 Drivers are advised to:

  • Reduce speed

  • Use low-beam headlights

  • Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles

  • Plan travel ahead, as delays may occur

The outlook comes as the country heads into a stretch of humid nights and early mornings, raising the likelihood of fog or mist formation over some inland regions.
