Dubai : A long and unexpected fireworks display lit up the sky above Emirates Golf Club Marina on Friday night around 11.15pm, drawing attention from residents across surrounding areas. The vibrant bursts lasted several minutes and were clearly visible from The Greens and The Views, where local group chats quickly came alive with reactions.

Many welcomed the surprise, calling it a fun and festive way to kick off the weekend. Some even joked it felt like an early New Year’s Eve celebration. Videos and photos circulated rapidly, capturing the bursts of colour and their reflections across the water body at the expansive, lush golf course.

But not everyone was thrilled. One resident in a neighbourhood WhatsApp chat questioned the need for such late-night fireworks, pointing out that the loud sounds had woken up young children.

Others chimed in with similar concerns, noting the lack of advance notice and environmental impact.

While the source of the fireworks remains unconfirmed, most assumed it was part of a private event at Emirates Golf Club. IADC Southern Arabian Peninsula Chapter's annual golf tournament was being held the same night.
