Vxceed Technologies has landed a deal with Maritime Mercantile International (MMI) for a solution based on its Route Accounting System on Microsoft's .Net architecture.

It is to design and integrate internal systems with a mobile computerised system for any business involved in van sales or route accounting. Route Accounting System, one of Vxceed's mobile applications, empowers the sales force with full customer, product and pricing details.

At the point of sale, invoices or delivery notes can be quickly produced and forward orders can be recorded. The system compiles detailed information about the customer's history available to aid the selling process and increase market share.

"Vxceed was the only single vendor to propose for an entire Route Accounting solution to the organisation purely based on the Microsoft Platform," said Ajay Mathur, manager information system, MMI.

"This is the first implementation of Windows CE SQL database on the hand held equipment itself."

The system implemented is designed using a Microsoft Windows CE SQL database on the hand held device as well as a SQL server at the back office for a better management, security as well as the synchronisation of the information on the hand held.

"We at Vxceed were confident from day one that the organisations deploying our route accounting system based on the .Net architecture will have unbelievable business benefits.

"There are many non-tangible benefits with this system such as the increased number of sales calls, improved merchandising, easy production planning and inventory control, market information and strategy improvement and financial controls," said Cyril Ovely, chief technology officer, Vxceed Technologies.
