Sharjah: Dozens of visitors flocked to see the new books on display at the 28th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2009.

The Book Fair showcased books from Russia, India, the UK and the US, as well as from other countries.

"I prefer to come here yearly so that I can see the new editions of self-help books so that I can learn how to manage my time with my children, since I am a working mother," said Thuraya Juma.

"It's not that I come here every year as a habit, but it's because it always has the latest books and they are always showcased in the proper way so you cannot miss out on them. I am interested in reading about political history, and many of the books are translated into Arabic" said Fahd Al Beloushi, 29.

Visitors from all walks of life came to see the book fair, which also included dozens of titles at the foreign section.

"I am interested in science fiction section because it's not something that I can find in the Arabic section. It's a lot more imaginative, and I've been visiting the book fair for the past four years," said Saif Abdul, a 26-year-old American.
