US embassy marks 9/11 anniversary

Abu Dhabi: A UAE official yesterday urged for better and objective communication among religions.

The announcement came during a special "Ceremony of Remembrance" organised by the US embassy in the capital yesterday to mark the events of September 11, 2001.

"We gathered here to reiterate the UAE's position regarding the tragic events that took place on September 11. These irresponsible, unjust and wrongful actions are not justified by any faith," said Al Sayyed Ali Al Hashimi, Religious Affairs Advisor to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
