UNICEF official hails UAE's projects for rehabilitation of child jockeys

Abu Dhabi: Sigrid Kaag, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, has thanked the UAE for its human handling of the issue of child camel jockeys through its unstinted support for projects targeting welfare of those children and their families as well as their communities.

She praised the UAE programmes for rehabilitating those children and described them as ideal and pilot.

The UNICEF official made her remarks during a meeting today with Lt.General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

The meeting reviewed a host of issues of mutual concern.
