Decision to be effective from May 19 until the end of 2025, announces ICP
Abu Dhabi: In a compassionate move reflecting the UAE’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian values, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) on Saturday announced the waiver of all fines related to residency visas and entry permits for nationals of the Republic of Sudan.
Effective from May 19, 2025, and continuing through the end of the year, Sudanese nationals residing in the UAE will be able to regularise their status without incurring financial penalties, ICP said.
The decision, issued under the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership, comes in light of the exceptional circumstances currently facing Sudan, and underscores the UAE’s unwavering approach to supporting those in need—particularly in times of crisis. It further underscores the country's role as a beacon of tolerance and human solidarity.
The authority explained that Sudanese nationals with outstanding fines can regularise their status and submit renewal applications via its official digital channels, with procedures set to be smooth and flexible.
ICP noted that the decision aligns with national efforts to strengthen social and humanitarian well-being for UAE residents. It also reflects the wise leadership's commitment to compassion and generosity, embodying the UAE's core message of promoting humanity and peace.
