UAE to get new radio network

A new radio service is being set up under a memorandum of understanding signed by Emirates Media Inc with Al Nisr Publishing.

The Emirates Radio Network will cater to various communities in the UAE.

The MoU was signed by Ahmad Ali Al Beloushi, director of EMI, and Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, chairman of the board of Al Nisr Publishing.

The new radio network will launch a number of radio channels in several languages early next year, and more channels will be added in 2007.

EMI's existing channels, Radio 1 and Radio 2, will also be revamped under the memorandum.

The cooperation between Al Nisr Publishing and EMI will extend to other fields and give rise to more projects, Al Beloushi said.
