UAE nationals to get feel of job market at career fair
Dubai: The Emirates National Development Programme (ENDP) will be facilitating meetings between UAE nationals and employers at Careers UAE 2007 today.
The three-day event will continue until March 15 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre, with the official support of the Ministry of Labour, Tanmia, ENDP, Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University and UAE University.
According to Azza Al Sharhan, director of ENDP, the career fair will provide UAE nationals with exposure to the job market.
She said, "We will facilitate [UAE nationals] meeting with prospective employers and enable them to apply for job positions on site or online."
Al Sharhan added that the fair will expose national job seekers to exciting networking possibilities, career leads and information about diverse companies in the private sector.
ENDP's pavilion at Careers UAE 2007 will give visitors an overview of its training programmes, new initiatives and job opportunities. ENDP has employed 1605 UAE nationals since opening its doors to registration in June 2006, of whom 482 were recruited between January and March 2007. UAE national job seekers can also meet officials from the Human Resources department at Dubai Customs.
