Civil Defence teams arrived at Dubai Airport in 45 seconds to help evacuate passengers
Dubai; It took just 45 seconds for the UAE Civil Defence team to arrive at the Dubai Airport to help evacuate the 300 passengers on board the Emirates aeroplane that caught fire after making an emergency landing last Wednesday.
The team managed to evacuate the passengers in a few minutes, and showed their professionalism in putting out the blaze.
Firefighters and rescue teams were immediately rushed to the scene and bravely fought to bring the blaze under control. They managed to contain the flames and evacuate the passengers in a record time. This proves the quick response by UAE teams in dealing with emergencies and crises.
In yet another achievement, the UAE registered a new record and showed high competency in handling the situation.
All government authorities and Emirates airline handled this crisis in a very professional way. The way the UAE handled the crisis has impressed the entire world.
The jet, carrying 282 passengers and 12 crew members, made the emergency landing at the airport shortly after 1pm, UAE time, before bursting into flames. All of the 300 people on board — including 24 Britons — were safely evacuated from the burning plane.
Firefighter Jasem Al Beloushi died while helping to save the passengers from the smoke-filled aircraft in a move that reflects the UAE’s keenness to ensure the safety of passengers.
Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group, held a press conference shortly after the incident to prevent the spread of rumours.
This incident recalls another successful quick response on New Year’s Eve when a fire that raged through the Address Hotel in Downtown Dubai was doused in record time.
