UAE emerges world bodybuilding champs

The UAE won the 20th World Men, Juniors and Masters Bodybuilding Championship after topping the standing in the final day held yesterday at the Al Nasr club's Rashid bin Hamdan indoor sports hall.

The UAE won the 20th World Men, Juniors and Masters Bodybuilding Championship after topping the standing in the final day held yesterday at the Al Nasr club's Rashid bin Hamdan indoor sports hall.
The UAE kept a clean sweep in the juniors tournament. They dominated the under-21 category by winning the gold medals in three weights. Ali Al Muttawa won the gold in the 70 kilos, Naser Mirza won the second gold in the 80 kilos, and Mohammed Rahama won the third UAE Gold in the above 80 kilos.
The three Gold medals put the UAE on top of the standing of the World Championship despite the fact that they didn't take part in the Masters tournament. Russia came second in the teams standing and won the silver medal, and Turkey finished third to win the bronze.
Sultan Saqr Al Suweidi the general secretary of the Sport and Youth general authority, Sultan bin Mejrin the UAE Body Building Federation chairman, and Rafael Santonja the executive assistant to the International Federation Body Building president, presented the winners of each weight category with the medals, special trophy and a certificate. The championship's trophy was presented to the UAE who won the team's World championship. A huge crowd attended the finals yesterday, showing that bodybuilding has thousands of supporters in the UAE.

80 kilo category,
Gold medal Naser Mirza (UAE), Silver Artem Ivanov (Russia), Bronze Essam Al Sayed (Egypt).
Above 80 kilo category,
Gold medal Mohammed Rahama (UAE), Silver Martvy Biddny (Ukraine), Bronze Alex Savronov (Russia).
Masters.
80 kilo category (age from 40-49 years),
Gold medal Christian Mihailescu (Romania), Silver Antonio Lopo (Italy), Bronze Vladimir Skholyanko (Ukraine).
Above 80 kilo category (age from 40-49),
Gold medal Manuel Calau (Spain), Silver Laszlo Balog (Hungary), Bronze Valdis Meikaliss (Latvia).
Masters Open Category (above 50 years),
Gold medal Ahmed Enunlu (Turkey), Silver Keijo Reiman (Finland), Bronze Daniel Cousieu (France).
