UAE chalks out plans for safe nuclear facilities

Plans include introduction of early warning systems for prevention and reduction of risks at time of crises

Abu Dhabi: The UAE is drawing up strategic plans to ensure security and safety of nuclear facilities by dealing with any emergency and crisis.

"The UAE lends special care to security and safety and proactive preparedness to any emergency and crisis before they erupt," Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Director General of the National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority (NCEMA), said.

"The UAE under directives from its wise leadership is drawing strategic plans and introducing early warning systems for prevention and reduction of risks at time of crises," he said in a statement on the sidelines of the second Crisis and Emergency Management Conference 2010 (CEMC) in Abu Dhabi.
