Two from UAE among nine in Adventure team

After four days of exhilarating adventure, tests, and training in the Czech Republic, the Marlboro Adventure Team Selection Camp witnessed the announcement of the Arab, European and Asian finalists, who will move onto the next stage - the adventure of a lifetime in Utah, U.S.

Jreij el Nachar and Hithan Mohammad Atiq from the UAE, Ali Al Ghaith and Saud Al Banai from Kuwait, Ali Abdullah Al Qassab from Bahrain, Mohammed Al Harithy from Oman, Mohammed Al Dakmari from Saudi Arabia and Karim Naoum from Lebanon.

These are the Arab winners who will represent the world as one global team to form the Marlboro Adventure Team 2002.

"This is an unforgettable moment. I was waiting to hear my name being called hoping that it wouldn't take too long." This was Jreij El Nachar's reaction in the midst of celebration with teammates. He continued, "I can't believe it. It's like a come true."

A representative from the organising agency of the Marlboro Adventure Team had the following to say, "Everyone has been looking forward to this moment. It's what the entire MAT has been working so hard towards.

"It required a lot of patience and concentration to learn how to manoeuvre the rough terrain and treacherous waters."
