A private television production house here is creating a series of Islamic discussions based on topics of common interest in daily life. Moiz Saeed, marketing director of Studio-52, said that the programme "Voice of Islam" would be based on questions on particular topics that would be put to people.

Saeed said: "Our programme presenters, who are qualified Islamic scholars, will answer the questions in their 60-minute programme." Saleh Saeed, Managing Director of Studio-52, said that the recorded versions of the programmes would be available in the market on VCD and on VHS tape.

"A pack of two VCDs or one VHS tape will be available for Dh25 and a home-delivery facility will be available within the UAE on payment of an additional Dh2.

"Producing such an Islamic programme is not a commercial project as our main objective is to highlight religious issues and present their solutions according to Islamic teachings," said Saleh, adding that the programme would be available on the market after approval from the government departments concerned. At least one programme will be presented each month.
