UAE man, 18, killed in Sharjah car crash

Sharjah: An 18-year-old man was killed when his vehicle collided with another vehicle and flipped over on Al Dhaid-Al Wishah Road in Sharjah on Sunday evening.

The Emirati victim sustained serious injuries in the crash, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Saeed Bin Hareb,acting director of the Traffic Police Department at Sharjah Police central region, said.

The operations room was informed about the incident at around 5pm. Police patrols and an ambulance rushed to the spot where they found the driver in critical condition.

Preliminary investigations showed that the victim lost control over his vehicle, which hit another vehicle, veered off the road and overturned several times.

The body of the deceased was transferred to Al Dhaid Hospital.

Lieutenant Colonel Bin Hareb urged motorists to pay attention while driving and abide by speed limits on the road.

The accident is the second of its kind in a week and it took place on the same road.
