Sultan orders return of confiscated cars

Vehicles modified to create noise to be returned after removing the modifications

Sharjah: Confiscated vehicles, modified to create noise, will be returned to their respective owners after removing the modifications, based on the orders of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Shaikh Sultan issued a statement through Sharjah Radio and Television’s “Direct Line” program.

Major-General Humaid Al Hadidi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police, explained that the 62 vehicles will be returned to their owners after the removal of modification in a workshop and owners will have to sign a pledge indicating they will not repeat the offence.

Shaikh Sultan had ordered last March last for immediate strict measures to be taken agaisnt vehicles deliberately creating noise in Sharjah.

Shaikh Sultan has previously ordered the closure of any facility that is found to provide vehicles with such modifications.
