Sharjah: The public can now tap into Sharjah Police’s live webcams to see how busy the city is and check for traffic congestion.

The live camera services are being offered by Sharjah Police on its website, m.shjpolice.gov.ae/m_en/camtemp.aspx

Sharjah Police have launched the “My Way” service to motorists through allocated cameras in the police operations room, which transmit live views of Sharjah roads around the clock and give motorists the chance to choose their route.

The live webcam initiative has three central aims, said Sharjah Police — to allow people to watch live footage of daily life in Sharjah city; to ensure safety and to monitor traffic and allow motorists to use alternative routes in case of traffic jams.

The cameras show Al Ittihad Road, Taawun Road, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, Al Khaldiyah Bridge, Buhaira Corniche Road and Al Wahda Road.

Sharjah Police’s new website also offers a wealth of other services in both Arabic and English.
