All these services are now fully accessible online via the official RTA website and App
Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has consolidated its driver licensing services by 53%, reducing them from 33 to just 15.
The initiative is part of RTA’s broader strategy to provide seamless, secure, and integrated digital services that align with the Government of Dubai’s vision to improve quality of life across the emirate.
Sultan Al Akraf, Director of Driver Licensing at the RTA’s Licensing Agency, said: “This re-engineering of the customer journey is part of a comprehensive roadmap designed to enhance RTA’s digital services and streamline the process of obtaining a driver’s licence through smart channels.”
User friendly
He highlighted that the initiative leverages advanced technologies and data integration, enabling users to access all driver and vehicle services through a unified digital platform on the RTA’s Dubai App. This is a key component of the ‘Services 360’ plan, which aims to deliver proactive, user-centric services tailored to the evolving needs of customers.
“RTA is committed to delivering services to individuals and businesses in line with the highest international standards,” Al Akraf added. “Through smart solutions and the continuous improvement of operational efficiency, we aim to make our services simpler, faster, and more sustainable.”
Al Akraf added: “This initiative marks a major shift in how customers interact with RTA services, reflecting our ongoing efforts to improve convenience, reduce processing time, and integrate seamlessly with other government platforms.” The streamlined services now cover a broad range of driver licensing needs.
The services include:
Applying for or renewing a driver’s licence
Adding new vehicle categories
Transferring a trainee’s file between institutes
Updating personal information
Requesting licence replacements
All these services are now fully accessible online via the official RTA website, with simplified steps and proactive notifications, eliminating the need to visit physical service centres.
