Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the opening of a new driver training and licensing branch in Hatta, aimed at improving service accessibility for residents in the region.

The new facility, developed in partnership with Emirates Driving Institute, is part of the RTA’s broader strategy to enhance public services through collaboration with the private sector. The branch is intended to raise the quality and convenience of driver-related services for Hatta residents, who previously had to travel to Dubai or other emirates for similar services.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the RTA’s Licensing Agency, said, “The launch of this branch reflects RTA’s commitment to serving local communities by providing easy access to essential driver licensing services. It also supports the region’s development and improves the overall quality of life.”

He added that the initiative aligns with Dubai Government’s vision to promote Hatta as a leading tourist destination while meeting the needs of its residents.

The new Hatta branch is fully operational and offers a full suite of services, including traffic file opening, theoretical and practical training, driving tests, and licence issuance for both motorcycles and light vehicles, with options for manual and automatic transmissions. With this launch, it becomes the 27th RTA-approved driver licensing centre in Dubai, further strengthening the city’s driver training infrastructure.

Operating hours for the branch are Sunday to Friday, from 8:15 AM to 11:00 PM, with a break for Friday prayers from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM and a daily service break from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. On Saturdays, the centre operates for registration only, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
