No need to switch trains at Jebel Ali Metro station, travel direct from Centrepoint
Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Tuesday reminded Dubai Metro passengers that they can use separate direct train services on the Red Line to Expo City Dubai and the Life Pharmacy Metro Stations. With this improvement, passengers no longer need to transfer at Jebel Ali Station to take a separate train to Expo City Dubai. Trains now operate directly between Centrepoint and Expo City Dubai Station, and between Centrepoint and the Life Pharmacy Station, providing a faster, smoother commuting experience.
In an official reminder shared via social media this week, RTA emphasised the importance of checking information display screens at metro stations to ensure passengers board the correct train to their destination, as trains now alternate between Expo 2020 and UAE Exchange terminals.
What you need to know
Check information display screens at stations to ensure you are boarding the correct train for your destination.
Red Line trains now alternate between the two endpoints: Expo City and the Life Pharmacy Stations
No interchange required at Jebel Ali Station, just board the right train and go.
“Passengers would no longer need to interchange at Jebel Ali Metro Station. This strategic enhancement streamlines journeys and improves the overall efficiency of the Dubai Metro network,” RTA said in a previous statement.
Less crowding
According to RTA, this adjustment, introduced in August 2024, has helped reduce crowding, shorten waiting times, and improve energy efficiency by lowering total train kilometres and power usage. The authority also deployed additional staff during the initial roll-out to guide passengers and ensure a smooth transition.
