Ras Al Khaimah: The Inclusive Police Patrols on Thursday seized 10 cars from youngsters who do not hold driving licences at the entrance of two secondary boys schools.

Major Shaikh Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Acting Head of the Inclusive Police Patrols, said that the campaign against vehicles driven by unlicensed driver is initiated at the instructions from Major General Shaikh Taleb Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chief of RAK Police.

Major Al Qasimi said that the seizure of these cars came as part of the police efforts to root out the phenomenal driving of the young and unlicensed drivers.

He added that the police are waging a war against drivers who do not hold UAE driving licences and that it won't end until the phenomenon is completely rooted out from society.

He stressed that increasing numbers of reckless and careless young drivers have been driving vehicles without holding driving licences and causing daily road accidents which end with fatalities and different types of injuries.

Major Al Qasimi said that the police campaigns against the unlicensed drivers will go on and that unlicensed drivers will find the police patrols just in front of them wherever they are.

He called on parents to check their children and not to allow them to drive without a licence. He said obtaining driving licences is meant to introduce new drivers to the traffic laws at a certain age.

This particular age law is strictly observed in Ras Al Khaimah and the police will ensure that nobody will be allowed to break it.
