Ras Al Khaimah: An Emirati boy died on Tuesday and five other family members sustained serious injuries when a heavy vehicle rammed into their car on Al Rams road.
Nine-year-old Majid Ganem Al Shehi was killed at the accident site and his brothers and sisters sustained serious injuries and were admitted to Saqr Hospital.
The family members were on their way home after applying for their identity cards at the RAK Office of the National Identity Authority.
The family members were extremely happy with their ID and called home several times expressing their happiness over processing their applications.
Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Al Jeeda who heads the Traffic department, said a heavy vehicle driven by 50-year-old Arab national identified as A.M rammed into the Camry car driven by the 24-year-old Emirati identified as M.G. He said the heavy vehicle swerved from its lane and rammed into the vehicle.
