Dubai: A motorcycle delivery driver was killed in a horrific accident after a pick-up truck crushed him on Sunday, the police said.
Traffic police expert, Lieutenant Colonel Omar Mousa Hassan Ashoor, said on Monday that the accident took place on Al Wasl Road at 3pm. He said a woman driver hit the motorcycle which fell onto the other lane and the pick-up driver crushed him as he did not realise he was there.
The pick-up driver fled the scene. He said police were hunting for him. “We are not sure yet who hit the motorcyclist first — the woman or the pick-up driver,” he said.
In a separate accident, a cyclist sustained serious injures when he was hit by a speeding car on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road. The driver is in police custody.
