Dubai: Sergeant Amna Rashid Al Bloushi, a security patrol leader at the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency in Dubai Police, is an inspiring example of dedication, discipline, and excellence. She balances the demanding life of a police officer with the responsibilities of raising seven children — including three triplets.

Despite her busy life, Amna has achieved something remarkable: a spotless driving record. Whether behind the wheel of her daily police patrol car or her personal vehicle, she has never been involved in a traffic accident.

Her achievement earned her a place among the winners of the ‘Safe Driving Stars’ initiative — and she was the only woman recognized in this year’s seventh edition, which honored 66 Dubai Police officers and staff.

Honoring safe drivers

The ‘Safe Driving Stars’ initiative, launched by the General Department of Transport and Rescue in partnership with Majid Al Futtaim - Genesis and Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company, celebrates Dubai Police drivers who have maintained clean driving records without accidents or violations.

Amna was recognised for her four years of perfect driving as a patrol leader in the Bur Dubai area, showing not only skill but also a deep commitment to road safety.

Her recognition is especially impressive in a category typically dominated by male officers, as the award demands strict adherence to traffic laws and exceptional focus in challenging road conditions.

A passion for the road and community

"I thank God that since I began driving the patrol in Bur Dubai, I’ve had no accidents. I always strive to drive carefully, thanks to the trust of my superiors and the training I’ve received," Amna said.

She explained that her love for the job and the encouraging reactions from people she meets in the community fuel her passion. "People are often pleasantly surprised to see a woman driving a police patrol and responding to their needs on the spot. It makes me proud to represent women in this role," she added.

Serving the nation with pride

Each morning, Amna heads to her station, collects the patrol vehicle, and begins her rounds in Bur Dubai. "Working with Dubai Police gives me a deep sense of pride. I feel I am giving back to my country and helping the community through my work in the field."

A proud mother and police officer

Amna, who has children ranging in age from two to 17 years old, says she’s found balance between her career and family life. "When I finish work, I go home, prepare meals, help my children with their schoolwork, and make sure they’re doing well in their studies. I’m proud of my work as a police officer and equally proud of being a mother."

Amna has been part of Dubai Police since 2007, and her dedication has been clear from the start. Her leadership saw her nominated for the ‘Safe Driving Stars’ award by her superiors.
