Dubai Police honour 66 exemplary drivers in 'Safe Driving Stars' Initiative

Dubai: Dubai Police honored 66 exemplary drivers in the seventh edition of the "Safe Driving Stars" initiative, organized by the General Department of Transport and Rescue, which aimed at recognizing the outstanding drivers within the Force, who have maintained free accidents and traffic violations record.

The honorary ceremony was held at the Dubai Police Officers' Club in cooperation with Majid Al Futtaim, Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company, and Genesis.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Harib bin Mohammed Al Shamsi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, along with assistant commandants, directors of general departments and police stations, as well as several officers, employees, and partners involved in the "Safe Driving Stars" initiative.

Major General Al Shamsi, accompanied by Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs, Major General Rashid Al Falasi, Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue, and his Deputy Brigadier Nabil Abdulla Al Rida, honored the initiative's winners across various categories, beginning with the recognition of 66 exemplary drivers from different police sectors.

He also acknowledged the winning general departments within Dubai Police in the "Safe Driving Stars" initiative, where the General Department of Traffic was awarded the Gold Shield, the General Department of Transport and Rescue received the Silver one, and the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency was honored with the Bronze Shield.

At the police station level, Al Raffa Police Station was awarded the Gold Shield in Group A, while Al Rashidiya Police Station secured the Silver, and Bur Dubai Police Station received the Bronze one. In Group B, Lahbab Police Station claimed the Gold Shield, while Al Faqa'a Police Station earned the Silver and Ports Police Station awarded the Bronze.

During the ceremony, he recognized three outstanding employees in the ‘Our Fleet… Our Responsibility’ category: Sergeant Abdullah Sadiqi won the Gold shield, Lieutenant Muneer Al Blooshi received the Silver one, and First Sergeant Mohsen Al Arif was awarded the Bronze shield.

In the ‘Our Fleet…Our Responsibility’ category at the station level, Al Khawaneej Police Station received the Gold award, while the Bur Dubai Police Station earned the Silver, and Al Rashidiya Police Station was honored with the Bronze.

Dubai Police also recognized the top users of the "I-Serve" service, which features self-driving vehicles: First Corporal Habib Sadiq, Sergeant Salmeen Ziyad, and civilian Dad Mohammed.

Major General Al Shamsi acknowledged the sponsors, including Majid Al Futtaim, Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company, Meela International - Karji Perfumes, Dar Al Hay Gents Tailoring, Morning Glory Health Club, and Pit Stop Vehicle Services.

At the end of the event,Major General Al Shamsi praised the drivers for their commitment to traffic rules and their efforts to enhance road safety. He emphasized that the "Safe Driving Stars" initiative contributes to reducing traffic accidents by promoting compliance with safety regulations. This initiative reflects Dubai Police's ongoing dedication to recognizing exceptional individuals and fostering a culture of excellence and pioneering.
