Dubai: A multi-layer car parking system was launched yesterday in Dubai in a bid to solve the parking problem.

"The new multi-layer automated parking system can accommodate 25 times the number of cars that can be parked in concrete parking plazas and it will be cost effective as well," said Farouk Abdullah Kamber Awazi, Chairman of F Kamber Holdings - which has tied up with a Chinese company Voltech Group, manufacturer of automated parking system - to introduce the system in the UAE.

Solution

Awazi said the company would provide parking solutions to private and public sectors.

The multi-layer parking system enables automated parking and retrieving of cars using a computerised system that controls the movement of pallets, lifts and carriers.

The moment a motorist leaves a car at the entrance of the multi-layer parking system, it automatically parks the car at a designated empty slot.

Dr Wen Haiquan, President of the Voltech Group said: "We have already installed more than 60,000 parking units for more than 500 clients across the world.

"I am sure this system will help solve the issue of parking shortage in Dubai, which has high concentration of cars."
