Security and patrols will be stepped up at celebration sites

Sharjah: Security and traffic patrols will be stepped in Sharjah to ensure safe New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Brigadier Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director-General of Operations and Security Support, Sharjah Police, said the focus will be on celebration areas and fireworks displays, including Al Hira Corniche, Al Buhairah Corniche, and Khorfakkan Corniche.
Traffic will be directed in line with the plans to achieve a smooth flow of vehicles, he added.
The Director-General said advanced surveillance and communication systems will be deployed to improve the efficiency of emergency response round the clock. Additionally, the police will closely coordinate with strategic partners, including Sharjah City Municipality, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, and Rafid Vehicle Solutions Company to meet the objectives.
Brig Al Naour called on the public to cooperate with the security personnel present and follow traffic directions to ensure their safety and avoid congestion. He affirmed the readiness of all teams to receive complaints and reports at the emergency number 999 and the non-emergency number 901.
