Dubai: Visiting Lebanon Island on The World islands just got easier as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in association with the Royal Island Beach Club, is launching daily ferry trips from Al Ghubaiba station.

“The first trip to the island will begin on Friday at 5pm and seats are already full on most scheduled trips,” said Raman Ravi, owner of Lebanon Island.

The fare for the one-hour trip is Dh475 per head, which includes dinner as well as entertainment.

In the initial phase, a single daily trip has been scheduled and seats need to be booked 24 hours in advance by calling 052-8788344.

“The cruise will offer people a spectacular view of the Creek, the shore, the skyline as well as the Arabian Sea, while also providing a delicious meal and entertainment,” said Baha Al Qedra, Director of the Marine Department at the RTA’s Public Transport Agency.

The return trip from the island will begin at 9pm and the ferry will reach Al Ghubaiba at 10pm.

The RTA plans to add more trips in the future depending on the demand.

“We have plans to launch more trips during the day, but we will study the response first and probably in September we will have a morning trip as well,” added Al Qedra. The ferry accommodates 100 passengers with facilities such as restrooms, LCD entertainment and a kiosk for snacks.
