False SMS traffic fine alerts in Dubai

Dubai: You may not have a traffic fine afterall.

False traffic fine messages are being sent to drivers in Dubai because of a technical glitch in the SMS system, police have said.

The Dubai Police traffic department said technicians are working to fix the problem, which began on Thursday.

Anyone receiving a message is advised to check the website to find out if their fine is genuine.

Police said the problem would be fixed as soon as possible.
