New partnership with e & enhances passenger experience and supports UAE’s digital strategy
Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with e &, has successfully equipped all 259 of its intercity buses with free Wi-Fi, offering passengers seamless connectivity on routes linking Dubai with Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, and Fujairah.
The initiative aims to transform the daily commuting experience by allowing travellers to stay connected, work remotely, manage personal tasks, or browse the internet using their smartphones, tablets, or laptops, making long-distance bus journeys more enjoyable and productive.
Digital strategy
This move is part of RTA’s broader strategy to accelerate digital transformation and improve public transport services for all community segments. It supports the UAE Digital Government Strategy and contributes to Dubai’s vision of becoming the world’s smartest and happiest city.
The Wi-Fi service will be regularly evaluated in partnership with e & to ensure high-quality connectivity and explore opportunities for future enhancements. Expansion of similar digital services is also being considered for marine transport modes across the emirate.
