Joint campaign with multiple government entities aims to boost safety for delivery riders
Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with the Dubai Police, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Municipality, and the Dubai Health Authority, has conducted 1,059 inspections targeting delivery motorcycles operating across the Emirate.
The large-scale campaign, which focused on high-density areas such as Downtown Dubai, Jumeirah, and Motor City, resulted in multiple violations being recorded. Authorities also impounded 19 motorcycles found in breach of delivery sector regulations.
The campaign is part of the efforts to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with regulatory standards for the delivery riders.
Public safety
Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, said that these inspections are part of a broader, ongoing initiative to promote public safety and raise the quality of delivery services in Dubai.
“The campaign recorded various violations, including failure to wear protective gear, riding without an RTA-issued professional training certificate, and reckless driving. These behaviours pose serious risks to both riders and other road users,” Mahboob added.

As part of the campaign, RTA also distributed QR codes to delivery riders linking to educational videos that outline legal requirements and safe driving practices.
Mahboob urged delivery companies to strictly comply with all relevant regulations, highlighting that non-compliance not only endangers lives but also undermines service standards.
“We will continue working closely with our strategic partners to carry out inspection and awareness campaigns. These efforts are essential to creating a safe, sustainable, and efficient delivery environment for everyone in Dubai,” he added.
The RTA reaffirmed its commitment to issuing updated regulatory guidelines and circulars in coordination with other government entities, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leader in safe and smart mobility.
