Dubai: Motorists in Dubai faced heavy tailbacks on Shaikh Zayed Road after a multi-vehicle accident clogged the popular route on Monday.
According to Dubai Police, the accident happened during the morning rush hour at around 8am near the Al Manara exit, in the direction towards Abu Dhabi.

No injuries were reported, but drivers were cautioned to expect heavy delays on their journey and to seek alternative routes.

A number of major routes in Dubai were backlogged with traffic as commuters started their week, after the four-day public holiday to commemorate Martyr’s Day, Prophet Mohammad’s Birthday (PBUH) and the UAE’s 46th National Day.
In a recent tweet by Dubai Police, constant lane changing is the main cause of accidents.

Drivers also faced heavy congestion on Beirut Street, near Dubai International Airport, Ras Al Khor Road and on the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed (MBZ) Road from Sharjah to Dubai, as well as Al Wahda Street.
