Asian man killed by a car on Fujairah road

Fujairah Police have launched an investigation after an Asian man was hit by a car and died Thursday as he crossed the road.

The incident happened close to the criminal investigation department in Fujairah.

It is understood the victim used the wrong crossing.

Colonel Ali Al Yamahi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department at Fujairah Police, said: “The man rushed into the road towards the town centre but was hit by a car whose driver could not avert the accident.

“The victim, in his 20s, was running towards the other side through the wrong crossing,” Al Yamahi added.

The body was taken to hospital while the car driver was arrested and taken into police custody.
