Ajman: Police in Ajman have confiscated 222 bicycles during a seven-day traffic safety campaign to curb accidents caused by rogue cyclists on emirate roads.

Major Saif Abdullah Al Falasi, head of traffic and patrols department at Ajman Police, said the campaign aimed to improve road safety, reduce congestion, accidents, and deaths. The campaign, he said, targeted cyclists who did not wear proper helmets and fluorescent safety jackets at night.

Proper bicycle wear not only protects riders from injury but also gives them high visibility in low light to avoid collisions with motor vehicles, he said.
