Abu Dhabi Police warns drivers against stopping in yellow box

Violators will be fined Dh500 if caught as number of cameras increases

Last updated:

Abu Dhabi: Drivers are warned against stopping inside the yellow box on intersections, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police said.

The Directorate urged motorists to avoid crossing traffic lights unless roads are clear of congestion to make room for vehicles coming from the opposite direction while street lights change colour.

The fine for stopping in the yellow box is Dh500 and, according to police officials, a larger number of surveillance cameras are being placed at intersections as well as patrol cars to catch violators.
