Abu Dhabi: Four people of a family died in a road crash and four others were injured in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Police said on Thursday. 

They all belong to a family from Oman. 

The police attributed the cause of accident to sudden swerving, which caused turning around of the vehicle and getting smashed. 

The accident happened on Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road after Al Marfa Bridge towards Abu Dhabi in Al Dhafra region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. 

All injured were transferred to the nearby hospital for the treatment. 

Brigadier Mohammad Mosallam Al Mahrami, Director of Traffic department in Al Dhafra region, said, primary investigation showed that the accident occurred due to sudden swerving of the vehicle.

He urged motorists who use the international motorways particularly during late night hours to park their vehicles outside the road in a safe area when they feel drowsy and tired. 

He asked drivers to take some rest and restart the journey only when they feel refreshed and abide by traffic rules and drive carefully. 

The police expressed deep sorrow for incident where four people died and hoped speedy recovery of injured people.
