Aiming to attract water fanatics, the Beach Adventure Village located at the Al Mamzar Beach will add to the spirit of adventure, fun and entertainment of the theme week organised by Dubai Police between July 29 and August 4 according to a press release.
Captain Juma Aruhumy, supervisor of the Beach Adventure Village, said, "The Beach Adventure Village has planned a lot of fun-filled activities for families.
"The idea is to cajole families to come out of their homes to enjoy the sun, sand and sea this summer along with other like minded families and have a lot of fun.
"The beach is a hot spot for families. People in the UAE just love going to the beach. Keeping this in mind, we have organised sea cruises with four boats that give visitors a free ride for 20 minutes.
"Kids can also indulge in sculpting sand castles for which tools are available at the beach. We have also organised elementary lessons in fishing especially for children."
Captain Juma also described the various activities for adults. The spread includes a huge fishing farm with dimensions of 150x200 metres containing various species of fish.
Fishing will be permitted here, and necessary fishing equipment and the material for the bait will also be provided.
The catch will be entered into a competition, to be evaluated on its size and the weight. The 'Catch of the Day' will receive special prizes from Dubai Police.
The event comprises many games to test the knowledge and the skills of children in the sciences and cultural studies. The 60-minute long Police K9 show will be hosted on Friday.
Captain Juma also said, "There are many games for teens like the soapy playground. There is also a huge pool and there is a diving competition for kids in the age group of 8-11 years."
Additionally, there is a seafood competition in which participants can cook up delicious meals to win attractive prizes.
The Sea Heritage Expo, another exciting event, will remain open daily, showcasing exhibits pertaining to sea life, treasures hidden in the depths of the sea, stories of ocean explorers and a series of educational films on the ocean.
A huge family tent will be the spot for relaxation and activities such as face painting will keep the children occupied.
The Home for the Elderly will also host a series of special events on the occasion.
Families and youngsters will have an interactive experience as the young and old discuss life and interact with each other.
There are no entry tickets to the village. Food and drinks will be provided at discounted rates. Happiness will be personified at the Beach Adventure Village with a promise of sun, sea and sand.
