Three conmen who claimed they had powers to double any currency tried to dupe a police informer. The police set up a sting operation with the informer and asked the three to double $250,000 into half a million.

The three were visiting Dubai and trying to con people pretending they had black magic powers.

In the sting operation, an undercover policeman and the informer rented a room in a hotel in Deira. The informer called one of them who spoke Arabic and set the time and date for doubling the money.

When the money was shown to them, the leader of the group asked the others to fetch the special ingredients needed for the magic spell. One of the men returned saying that the other was frightened of something and had refused to come.

The first man gave the informer a $100 note as a sample and said he had put it in the special chemicals. The informer then gave the $250,000 to the other man to begin the process of doubling the money.

The undercover agent then called the police who raided the place and arrested the conmen.
