Dubai: Wear your most comfortable pair of sneakers because the three-day Super Sale is back, and it is not for the faint hearted.
With discounts ranging from 25 to 90 per cent, malls gathered a decent crowd on the first day of the bonanza. The pace picked up by afternoon and despite some shops being relatively empty, others were full of eager buyers making the most of the discounts.
This sale comes at a perfect time as it is the last weekend before Ramadan. Looking at Syrian National Hiba Mohammad’s shopping bags, it was safe to say that she enjoyed day one of the sales at Mall of the Emirates. She said: “I’m travelling so all my shopping is for my family. They are gifts.”
There are 460 retailers participating in this sale and 1,500 shops are offering discounts on a range of products including electronics, fashion, jewellery, home appliances and more.
Indian tourist Aruna Timothy who has come to Dubai to visit her son told Gulf News that she had just started looking around for things, but usually tends to buy a lot during the sales.
Jordan Watton was busy looking for a present for a friend and said she was trying to find her something “strange”.
Most people at the malls had at least one bag in hand but 22-year-old student Ayush Aggarwal had bags in both. He told Gulf News: “The sale was really good. I wasn’t looking for anything particular to buy. I went to see the discounts at my favourite brands and ended up buying a lot.”
Customers who spend Dh300 can play a life-size game of Monopoly in Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre and Mirdiff City Centre and stand a chance to win more prizes, including cash prizes.
This three-day sale ends on May 12, Saturday.
