Also, Iraq will stress the importance of fulfilling earlier aid pledges. Six months after the fall of former president Saddam Hussain, the international community pledged in the October 2003 "Madrid donors' Conference" to assist the reconstruction process in Iraq with over $32 billion (about Dh132 billion).

"Out of the promised assistance, Iraq has received a small part, nearly $6 billion," Saleh said .

"Security and political challenges can't be met without improving the living conditions of Iraqis. We will present the meeting with our vision and call upon the international community to work to activate the assistance and fulfil the promises in a more efficient way," he said.
