Stamp show highlights National Day

A three-day stamp exhibition organised by Emirates Post to highlight the UAE National Day opened yesterday at the Deira Main Post Office.

The expo is being cosponsored by the Emirates Philatelic Association and showcases stamps issued since 1973 as well as stamps before the formation of the Federation.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 8 am. Also on view will be First Day Covers, old stamp cancellation equipment, original artworks of stamps, original drawings and proofs.

Abdulla Al Daboos, Director General of Emirates Post, said, "It provides a rare opportunity for stamp collectors and the public to view these wonderful stamps under one roof and learn more about UAE's progress and philatelic excellence."

The exhibition will also feature collections of Abdulla Khoory, Majid Ali and Ali Hassan Al Mulla.
