Skysurfers, a new club for young travellers, was recently launched by Skywards. The new frequent-flyer programme for Emirates and Sri-Lankan Airlines is targeted at customers aged up to 16.

"It was launched to provide our younger members with rewards and news relevant to their interests," said Brian LaBelle, Sky-wards general manager.

Young Skysurfers receive the same benefits as members of Skywards, which include earning Skywards Miles with Emirates and SriLankan and its partner airlines and hotels worldwide. New members will receive a membership card, luggage tags for identification and a personal flight log as part of their handbook to record journeys.

They can then redeem their miles for free flights to hundreds of destinations, or trips to the Wild Wadi Water Park in Dubai or desert safaris and sand-skiing trips with Arabian Adventures. They can also use their miles to buy books, toys, watches and pens from partner stores such as McGrudy's and Rivoli.

Skysurfers can share their travel tales and learn about other members' stories through the Travel Journal on the Web at www.skysurfers.skywards.com.

Skysurfers can also check out their Skywards Miles and use the Mileage Calculator, check out movies available on Emirates and views of the movie of the month in the monthly diary, a travel quiz, and a screensaver with which they can personalise their PC.

Application forms can be downloaded from www.skysurfers.skywards.com, or one can be requested by e-mailing full address details to emirates.com. Filled forms should be forwarded to the Skywards Service Centre in Dubai, with the consent form signed by a parent or guardian.
