Sharjah: Fire hits high-rise in Al Majaz 1

Sharjah: Swift action by firefighters brought a blaze under control within minutes in a high-rise under construction building in Sharjah’s Al Majaz 1 area late on Wednesday.

Flames engulfed the rooftop of a tower near the Pizza Hut on Buhairah Corniche around 11.15pm. There are no reports of casualties as the building was not occupied.

Several fire engines rushed to the scene within minutes and doused the flames before they could spread. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
