Sam Benn, from Kollam, leaves behind his wife and two children

Sam Benn, a 46-year-old Indian videographer and entrepreneur based in Sharjah, passed away in his hometown of Kollam, Kerala, on Thursday.
Benn, who ran a small video production company in Sharjah and another in his native Kollam district, had reportedly travelled home about three weeks ago for work.
Friends in Dubai confirmed his sudden death.
“I have known Sam for the past four years. He ran a small video production company in Sharjah and had worked with us as well,” said P.A. Liyaquat Ali, Managing Director of Global Media Events, Dubai.
Ali said Benn collapsed suddenly two weeks ago and was rushed to a hospital in Kollam after suffering internal bleeding.
“A few days ago, my wife and I visited him at the hospital in Kollam. He was on a ventilator, and though there was some initial improvement, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away in the early hours of Thursday,” Ali added.
Benn is survived by his wife and two children, who had reportedly travelled to Kerala following his hospitalisation.
Ali described him as a “hardworking family man” who had built a home in Kollam.
