Emaar Properties has chosen Samsung Corporation as the main contractor to build the Burj Dubai, which on completion will be the tallest manmade structure in the world.
The contract was one of the most coveted in the Middle East's construction sector. The bidding process took 11 months and attracted offers from several prominent international contractors.
The Burj Dubai tower is part of the Dh29.44 billion 500-acre Downtown Dubai Development.
The value of the contract has not been divulged.
