Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers on Friday morning at the Grand Eid Musallah in Dubai.
Their Highnesses the UAE Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the various emirates also attended prayer sessions in their respective emirates.
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
In Dubai, Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, amongst others, offered Eid prayers at the Grand Eid Musallah.
A number of senior officials and residents also attended the prayer session. All the worshippers invoked Allah to bestow divine peace and prosperity on the country.
The Eid sermon was delivered by Imam Shaikh Omar Al Khatib, who prayed to Allah Almighty to accept the fasting of the Muslims during Ramadan. He also emphasised the need for benefiting from the month-long fast, which he said instilled patience, forbearance and tolerance in the hearts of Muslims.
Citing several verses from the Quran and the sayings of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Al Khatib explained the importance of tolerance and forgiveness in Islam.
In Sharjah, His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, the UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, attended the Eid Al Fitr prayers at Al Badee Musallah. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, shaikhs and senior officials also offered prayers along with Dr Shaikh Sultan.
A large number of citizens turned out for the prayers, which were led by Imam Shaikh Aziz Bin Farhan Al Anzi.
In Fujairah, His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Grand Eid Musallah.
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, offered Eid prayers along with the Ruler. The Eid prayers were led by Imam Shaikh Abdullah Mohammad Al Sa'adi.
In Ajman, His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Shaikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Mosque.
Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, offered the Eid prayers along with the Ruler, other shaikhs, senior officials and a large number of local people.
The prayers were led by Imam Shaikh Hussain Mo'en Al Hosni, Director of the Islamic Science Institute in Ajman.
In Umm Al Quwain, His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, offered Eid prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Mosque.
Shaikh Rashid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, offered prayers along with the Ruler. Imam Shaikh Ebrahim Al Mansouri led the prayers.
In Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Grand Khuzam prayer yard. The prayers were led by Imam Shaikh Ahmad Mohammad Al Shehi.
After the Eid prayers, their highnesses and the crown princes exchanged Eid greetings with shaikhs, senior officials and citizens of their respective emirates.
